The $480.00 Skinny Tire

Full 105. The drivetrain may be a bit on the old side, but very, very few miles. One year old Norco CRD 1 frame from a guy in Quebec. A few new parts, a few from the stock shelves in my basement and my bro-in-law has a nice little training rocket. He has yet to decide on pedals, thus the mtn clips for now. He's also thinking a new wheelset and maybe crankset/bb in the near future. This turned out much better than I thought and it really makes me want to scour the web for some finds for myself. Already have my eye on a frameset that nearly my entire ultegra grouppo would fit very well.

So, the hoo koo e koo has been rebuilt. The Norco has been built up. Sam's trailer is assembled and has been put to use. That project list is slowly shrinking. I may have found a few more customers though. Would be nice to have that bit of income to help support my habit. We'll see how it goes. Need to buy some brakes and shifters and build a wheelset and the Rocky will be ready to roll. Should be happening soon.

I've made a decision...

After reviewing Granny Gear Productions fee schedule, I have committed to help support Mr. Bosselmann's 24-hour adventure.

While I understand what Kevin is doing, and, I give huge props to him for what he was able to grow, I hope that this doesn't change the feel of what 24-9 has become.

A word to any of you out there that plan on participating in this event. Register early. The first deadline is rapidly approaching.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life gives you snow, make snowmen. I checked around and it did appear that we had, thanks to Julie, the only snowman in the area accessorized by Ann Taylor.

I was in a 6 hour meeting today. While we did get a lot accomplished, if heard, "At the end of the day," one more time I was going to either vomit or want come home and drink heavily. I didn't vomit, so, Cheers! everybody.

I've had a number of people, over the last three days or so, tell me to get my haircut. I wonder what this is code for. Guess I'm not up on the latest lingo and pop-cultrure phrases.

Happy Monday

For a Monday, work went well today. Wrapped up some loose ends and was even able to scoot out on time. Rather than head straight to daycare, I went home first, did a quick change and hooked up the trailer. When the little man saw his trailer when he came out of the building he made a beeline for it and started climbing in. Man, I hope he keeps this attitude with it. Quick jaunt home to throw together some taco salads for dinner and the three of us headed for a 35 minute ride. Not a long time. Not a long distance. But, good family time squeezed in before sunset. We rode the quiet side streets so we could easily go two abreast. Any saddle time is great. Throw in the ability to be outside on a beautiful early spring day while catching up on the day is a bonus.

Great temps in the forecast for tomorrow. It's going to be a Tuesday. In a couple of months, that will mean Beechwood. For now, I'll have to settle for trying to get an early release and getting some miles in before the fatherly duty calls.

Update

Sam logged 73 minutes of trailer time today. No whining until the last 3 minutes or so. The three of us had a great ride together. Was great to get Julie out for the first time in two years. I was also able to show Julie how close we are to our local establishments. I see Saturday morning coffee shop runs in the near future.
