Yesterday Did It

I may not be able to ride the trainer anymore this year. Being outside yesterday has me wanting more. I'll just need to find some better clothing to keep warm during the six weeks more of winter.

Although it doesn't show real well here, Sam did his first outdoor face plant today. While he is walking pretty well now, the downhill slope of the driveway proved to be his demise. A few bleeding cuts on the nose, a bit of a bruise on the bridge of his nose, and some dirt in the mouth. A quick clean up from Mom and he was right back at it.

In other news, in case any of you were wondering, trainers still do not mimic hills. I had a choice today. Up to an hour on the trainer, or 45 minutes outside. I choose the latter. It was 39 degrees and sunny, there really was no choice. I got a quick loop in. The only mistake I made was not having a 2nd layer on my arms. It really only came into play during the downhills that were into the wind. Other than that, I called the clothing nearly perfect for the conditions.

Last night brought some more Old-fashioneds. The real kind this time. Grabbed the muddler and some sliced orange, a couple of cherries, some sugar, a few dashes of bitters. Went old school with them. It's been a long, long time since I've done that. The first one was quite tasty. I made a few more just to be sure that the first one wasn't a fluke. It wasn't.

Went up to MC's Tuesday night to watch the boys skate. Was great to see the gang. I may just bring my hockey equipment next time. It's been 8 years since I've played, but hopefully I'll remember how to do it.

Well, that's all for now. Hope all ya' all had a great weekend.
